Madi was raised Christian, but in a home that did not fully model what it was like to be a follower of Jesus. With her parents often arguing and fighting Madi became confused, and deeply hurt to the point of giving up on the idea of marriage altogether. 

Many of us are not raised by perfect parents, and some don’t even know who both of their parents are. If we didn’t have perfect parents, or even good parents, how can we ever hope to be good parents ourselves? God is called “Father” because that's what He wants to be in our lives, the best parent we could ever have. He made each one of us, he knows each person intimately, and knows what each person is feeling. He is perfect and the only source of true love that exists. That’s true because we have all done so much wrong and deserve God’s anger and punishment. But He loves us so much that He came from a perfect Heaven to a broken Earth and He died for every single one of us. He took our place of judgment and our shame. He then rose 3 days later to prove that there is life after death. If we believe in what He did for us, we will live with him forever when he comes back to Earth and makes it perfect once again.
